We explore how cancer affects every area of life. We offer speakers with practical tips to give hope along the way. This is a space to be seen, known, and heard on your cancer journey.

Hope in the Journey

Cancer is a life-changing experience! Once you hear the big “C” word, there seems to be a demarcation point on the timeline of life, marking before and after. Even supportive people in your life may try to understand what you are going through, but unless they, too, have had a cancer diagnosis, it can be difficult for them to fully understand the pain and challenges you face. This can leave you feeling lonely, isolated, and afraid. But you don’t have to do it alone! We offer practical tips and hope that life can still be beautiful and that you still have a purpose. Our goal is for you to rest in God while at the same time engaging in practical solutions and faith-based strategies. Some of the speakers include doctors, survivors, therapists, spiritual leaders, and more. Join us as we move forward with cancer together. Being with a group of people on a similar journey can be a life-giving experience!

This group meets Thursdays in person at Lawndale Baptist Church from February 29th through April 25th, 2024, from 7 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. This group is for adults who have a cancer diagnosis, are survivors of cancer, and for those who are caregivers for someone with cancer. The cost of the group is FREE!

This is a supportive educational group presented from a Christian perspective. No professional counseling services will be offered in the group.

To register for the group, please call Lawndale Baptist Church at (336) 288-3824.

We encourage group members to ”notice” the losses of life, and fight the battle to reclaim and reinvest their heart after loss through faith-based strategies.
